The aim of the Alianza Flamenca syllabus is to prepare students to go to Spain and to enable them to join in master classes with the maestros of flamenco, armed with a sound knowledge of all the rhythms, styles and techniques of the art of flamenco dance.

The syllabus consists of 11 courses in ascending order of proficiency, plus a course for beginners and one for children. There are also 2 teachers assessment for those who wish to teach the syllabus.

Students learning the Alianza Flamenca syllabus may be assessed at the end of each course and awarded a diploma on successful completion.

The syllabus is devised to promote the highest possible standard of teaching and dancing outside of Spain.

The designers of the syllabus have all learned and danced extensively in Spain and continue their studies by attending master classes with leading exponents of flamenco to keep abreast of latest developments in this art form.

CURSO DE NIÑOS
This is a course designed specifically for children up to the age of 12 years. It gives the children an inspiring introduction into flamenco, and covers the basic groundwork in technique and compas, encouraging individual expression and interpretation.

CURSO PRELIMINARIO
This is a preparatory course in flamenco, introducing castanets, footwork and style of arms, incorporating various rhythms and a short dance.

CURSOS UNO AND DOS
This is the first of the 11 courses, giving a sound grounding in the basics of flamenco. Various rhythms and styles are introduced and students are encouraged to express themselves and explore the compas of the various rhythms.

CURSOS TRES TO SEIS
In these courses students learn in more depth about the flamenco rhythms, and continue to strengthen their technique and style.

CURSOS SEITE AND OCHO
These courses are a culmination of the basic studies in which the techniques, rhythms and styles are required to be performed in a more proficient manner.

CURSOS INTERMEDIO AND AVANZADO
These two courses are of a professional standard and students are encouraged to start choreographing their own work.

DIPLOMA FINAL
As there is no set format in this course, students may present their own dances, using the knowledge they have gained through the syllabus and elsewhere. An individual and professional standard is required.

PRIMER DIPLOMA DE ENSEÑANZA
Teachers Assessment’s for students who have achieved their Curso Ocho and wish to teach up to and including Curso Ocho.

SEGUNDA DIPLOMA DE ENSEÑANZA
Final teachers assessment for students who have achieved their DIPLOMA FINAL and PRIMER DIPLOMA ENSEÑANZA and who wish to teach the entire syllabus.
